Global Engagement

A major challenge to global peace and prosperity is widening inequality between the global north and the global south. Surprisingly though, current inequality, which manifest in the abundance of financial resources and technical capacity in the global north, but major opportunities for growth (in form of development challenges) in the global south, seem to be exactly what is needed to increase global prosperity and reduce inequality.

Unfortunately, platforms and channels that could bring the willing and adventurers together seem to be lacking. Thus, the Global Engagement portfolio of AiKEN Institute is mainly to create a diversity of platforms and channels via which the global south, especially countries in the Sub-Saharan African region can collaborate with institutions in the global north to evolve creative and innovative solutions to the numerous challenges of the sub-region, and in so doing, create opportunities for the growth and development of the sub-region. The key channels to be used to achieve the Global Engagement portfolio are as below:
